ScaleEngine Data Center Tour

The first five ScaleEngine servers, named Alpha through Echo. Each is a quad core 3.0ghz, 12mb cache, 8gb ram. A total of 240 TeraFlops
Master input power switch for red side power channel and UPS
Blade UPS for the red power channel. There is a similar UPS for the blue channel. Using a Blade UPS allows us to add additional capacity at any time.

APC Rack level PDU with remote management. Allows us to monitor power utilization and reboot our servers remotely. These 8 servers use only 6 amps of power when idle
Our PDU and Gigabit switch are pictured
The backs of the servers Alpha through Echo. As you can see, each has a dedicated gigabit circuit for internal data transfers, as well as a gigabit circuit for internet traffic
Servers Golf through India are also pictured
Our newly designed data center uses Hot Aisle Containment, so that hot air exhausted from servers is vented, rather than mixed with the cold air generated by the cooling systems. This is far more effective, and more environmentally friendly than a traditional setup. Principal <a href="http://www.nearsourceit.com/personnel#stefan.caunter">Stefan Caunter</a> is also pictured.
Many more racks of equipment are pictured
Pictured is the power monitoring panel for the three phase Red Channel
also pictured is the power monitoring panel for the three phase Blue Channel. Having two separate power channels allows our equipment with redundant power supplies to draw power from isolated systems
more UPS Blades
APC Rack Console, allows us to administer servers without having to move them to a work area.
The closure for the Hot Aisle Containment system is pictured
Above rack cabling as well as a raised floor ensure that cables do not impede airflow, and makes for a more organized rack system

Our Data Center is protected by an FM-200 fire suppression system

manual overrides for the fire suppression system
Infra-red security cameras are monitored 24/7, so even without the lights on, all activity in the data center is monitored.
